Fairview Hotels expands portfolio with purchase of four hotels

Fairview Hotels, which is owned by the Chatwani family, has acquired four Novotel properties with 450 bedrooms from Land Securities in an off-market deal handled by CBRE Hotels for an undisclosed sum. The hotels purchased are the:

- 98-bed Novotel Coventry M6 / J3

- 101-bed Novotel Ipswich Centre

- 119-bed Novotel Manchester West

- 132-bed Novotel Wolverhampton

The properties were part of a £439M sale and leaseback of 30 Ibis and Novotel properties between AccorHotels and Land Securities in 2007.

The deal increases Fairview's hotel portfolio to 960 bedrooms in 9 hotels throughout England. All are operated under franchise with AccorHotels, including one Ibis, two Mercure and six Novotel properties.

Fairview has significantly invested in its current properties and has also recently entered into an agreement with Black & White Hospitality and Marco Pierre White to launch a Marco's New York Italian restaurant at the 4-star Mercure London Bloomsbury Hotel.
